Webinar: Bolt Modeling Methods Webinar Series Part 1 (March 26, 2021)

This part 1 webinar in a two-part series, conducted on March 26, 2021, includes a presentation and live demonstration of the bolt modeling options available in Ansys Mechanical.

In this webinar, we first discuss the options for modeling bolts in Ansys, namely the Pretension Section and Preload Section methods. These methods are used depending on the expected behavior of the system being modeled. The Pretension Section method is available directly in the Mechanical interface; the Preload Section method is only available via APDL commands. We then discuss where to use each method and the caveats to those methods.
